Cassava Technologies pledges R3.6 billion in investment into the South African economy

In support of SA President, Cyril Ramaphosa’s initiative to drive investment into the country, Cassava Technologies, a global technology leader of African heritage, has pledged a total of R3.6 billion Rands in investment in South Africa through its business units – Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Cassava Intelligence South Africa (Pty) and Africa Data Centres

“South Africa is one of the most sophisticated and promising emerging markets globally. The unique combination of highly developed first-world economic infrastructure and a huge emergent market economy has given rise to a strong entrepreneurial and dynamic investment environment, and key public-private partnerships will ensure that South Africa continues to retain its position as an attractive investment destination,” stated Hardy Pemhiwa, CEO of Cassava Technologies

The pledge comprises of key projects that will be deployed over the next 24 months and will see Cassava’s South African infrastructure vastly amplified. Cassava,  provides innovative solutions and delivers specialised ICT and telco projects, boasting over 110,000km on fibre network, 1,000+ PoP’s, 5 Cyber Security Fusion Centres, 5 Data Centres and over 100,000 POS terminals deployed. The Company seeks to expand its fibre networks, increase its data centre, cloud and cyber security capacity as well as build and operate an Artificial Intelligence Factory in South Africa.

South Africa’s  ICT sector represents one of the most investment-attractive and growth-bound industries in Africa today, recording recorded strong revenue growth of up to 11.7% in 2025. The Independent Communications Authority’s 2025 ICT Sector Report indicates continuing growth in telecommunication revenue, expanding mobile and broadband adoption, and transformational shifts in how South African communicate. Cassava’s investments aim to contribute significantly in positioning South Africa as an attractive investment and tourism destination and ensure greater inclusion of all South African’s such that no-one is left behind.
